The role 

As the Business Development Manager, you will manage and drive new business sales within the designated sales territory, leveraging your experience in either B2B/SaaS/scientific/publishing/marketing.

 
You will be an integral part of the Sales team. It is envisaged that this is a full-time hybrid-working role with some attendance at the Bath office. This role reports to the account development sales manager.

• Articulate the value of SelectScience to key decision makers and provide a consultative approach, expertly navigating the sales cycle and match solutions to client needs. 

• Use a diverse range of strategies including face to face (international) and virtual meetings, telesales, digital tools and participation in exhibitions, to prospect, qualify and successfully win new opportunities and grow accounts. 

• Nurture high-level decision makers through organised and targeted activity.

• Be accountable for sales targets and provide regular forecasts, market feedback and ideas to the wider business.

• Track record of achieving annual sales targets.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively manage own time and prioritise tasks autonomously.
  
• Proficiency in managing international travel arrangements efficiently. 
  
• Strong competency in using Microsoft Office suite, CRM systems and digital tools. 

Desirable: 

• Proven experience of relationship-based sales/solution selling. 

• Experience using tools such as Salesforce, Monday.com, HubSpot, LinkedIn Navigator, AI tools

The role 

As a campaign executive or senior campaign executive, you will make it easy for our international clients to receive value from SelectScience digital and content marketing campaigns and services. Being responsible for all aspects of campaign management and delivery (revenue), working in tandem with internal sales, editorial and operations colleagues towards a shared goal of ongoing client satisfaction and retention.

 
It is envisaged that this is a full-time hybrid-working role with some attendance at the Bath office. This role reports to a client services manager.
  

Snapshot of the role: 

• Be responsible for all aspects of a successful campaign delivery (revenue) for allocated clients.
• Provide exquisite ongoing client-facing customer service, building long-term relationships with clients.
• Regularly review the performance of campaigns against expectations, and proactively collaborate with other teams to optimize campaign performance and make recommendations to clients.
• Use cutting-edge digital project management, CRM, campaign delivery, AI tools and other systems (full training provided).

Skills and Experience:

The Role - Scope

An exciting opportunity to deliver an editorial strategy aimed at growing clinician and scientist engagement. The role involves creating diverse content—news, articles, videos, webinars—and managing communications to support sales and sponsorships. Candidates must hold a Life Science or Biomedical Science degree and have at least two years of business experience, ideally in publishing. Strong communication, creativity, and organizational skills are essential. The position includes occasional international travel and requires a broad interest in laboratory technology. 

Key Responsibilities

• Developing and delivering an editorial/marketing plan to grow scientist and clinician membership and engagement, to enable sales and sponsorship opportunities
• Increasing industry awareness of SelectScience and develop a network of scientist, society and manufacturer contacts
• Developing and managing content and communications (original news stories, expert articles, video interviews, product reviews, buying guides, webinars, email newswires, show reports and others)
• Managing marketing activities for increasing membership and engagement
• Attend international conferences and exhibitions, visit institutes and science organizations, support sales visits to sponsors.

Experience & Qualifications

Essential:

• Qualification in clinical or medical science - preferably Biomedical Science, but biology or life science with clinical focus/interest also considered. (to at least degree level).

• Understanding of clinical laboratory technology, topics and trends.
• Understanding of the importance of professional social platforms such as LinkedIn to network and build personal and professional brand.

About the role

Reporting to the Head of QC, the Content Editor will help drive audience development and help deliver content in a timely fashion and ensure it achieves best practice quality and standards. They will support the sales team and work closely together with our client services department. They will help achieve KPIs, including working to support the ongoing growth of engagement through the new website. They will promote the business and engage with scientists and manufacturers. Monitor published downloadable content and provide a quarterly report on engagement actions and progress, including spotting analytics trends.

Key Responsibilities

• Build out and nurture audience
• Continually build new contacts in the field
• Ensure content output and performance in line with agreed KPIs
• Support social media activity for content published
• Monitor analytics for downloadable resources on a monthly basis, providing a report every quarter
• Support sales by taking part in sales calls and attending meetings with sponsors where appropriate
• Travel to industry events to develop contacts, build media and business partnerships and produces targeted content and event coverage
• Write, edit and proof content
