Social Media Manager

Are you a social media whiz bursting with creativity and a passion for science? Come and join our award-winning company at the forefront of scientific advancement.

Could you take an article about cutting-edge research and engage a global audience of scientists in under 280 characters? How would you use LinkedIn to drive attendance at virtual events featuring world-leading speakers and scientific manufacturers?

This past year has shown why effective communication in science is more important than ever, so if you’re eager to make a real difference, this is an opportunity you won’t want to miss.

Over 23 years, as the No. 1 digital science publisher, SelectScience and The Scientists' Channel have transformed global scientific communications with an innovative team motivated by a fierce desire to make the world a healthier place. We interview the world’s top scientists on camera, host groundbreaking global summits and break the technology news that really matters - now we just need the right person to help ensure all that brilliant content reaches as many of the right people as possible through our network of social media channels.

Working with an array of international brands, you’ll relish the chance to develop communities across multiple platforms and build a network of strong relationships with scientists, marketing experts and other external partners.

Our audience is already growing fast across LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, but you’ll be the person to take it to the next level using the latest tools and techniques.

You’ll have:

  • A proven track record of delivering successful professional/b2b social media campaigns and audience growth
  • A clear understanding of how to convert audience to web traffic, membership, sales leads, or other key business objectives
  • Experience in putting together clear strategies for success – whether paid or organic campaigns - as well as in measuring, analyzing and reporting back
  • Strong writing skills and creative flair — video editing know-how a bonus
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills
  • Ability to understand and communicate technical material effectively
  • A degree-level qualification (or equivalent experience)

Experience in publishing and/or a science background would be a plus. However, we are most interested in the skills, ideas and enthusiasm you can bring to the role.

In return, we offer you:

  • Be part of a team that won the 2021 Queen’s Award for Enterprise
  • A competitive salary
  • Flexible working, including a mix of office and home-based
  • Benefits package, including pension and private medical insurance.

You’ll also have plenty of opportunities to develop and grow – not to mention the daily buzz of seeing your strategies and creative flair make a real difference.

Science communication has never been more important – this is your chance to be right at the forefront of that conversation.
