About you

We are looking for an IT Operations Manager to oversee our company’s helpdesk, hardware, software and computer networks. You will manage our live systems and networks delivering excellent service for the company as a whole and collaborating closely with our development teams to migrate legacy systems and bring new solutions into service.

 

IT Operations Manager responsibilities include monitoring network infrastructure and resolving system issues including managing our helpdesk and suppliers. You need to have experience with cyber security, network administration and systems support. If you’re also familiar with data protection regulations and able to juggle multiple projects, we’d like to meet you.

 

Ultimately, you’ll ensure our IT systems are secure, consistent and reliable. Above all we are looking for a collaborative and enthusiastic team leader who is open to learning, keen to work in an agile setting and who values those around you.

 

 

Responsibilities:

We value any hands on skills you can offer personally but would expect you to work with our suppliers and internal team to deliver the following:

  • Maintain and optimize company networks and servers
  • Be responsible for device and security management
  • Manage installations, upgrades and configurations of hardware and software
  • Assess system performance and recommend improvements
  • Resolve issues escalated by technicians and engineers
  • Ensure data is handled, transferred or processed according to legal and company guidelines
  • Provide support and guidance to stakeholders by managing our help desk and suppliers
  • Control costs and budgets regarding IT systems
  • Manage contracts with vendors (e.g. development platforms, telecommunication companies, password managers) and software licenses
  • Develop IT policies and practices
  • Line management of small internal team
  • Recruitment, training and growth planning for your team over time

 

Requirements:

  • Microsoft product experience including MS365 administration, MS Azure
  • Proven experience as IT Operations Manager or in similar roles
  • Experience with system installation, configuration and analysis
  • Good knowledge of networks and cloud computing
  • Knowledge of data protection operations and legislation (e.g. GDPR)
  • Leadership and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects
  • Great customer service and communication skills
  • Problem-solving aptitude and keenness to learn new technologies

Desirable skills or experience:

  • ITIL or other relevant qualifications would be ideal
