About you

The Lead Developer is a new role to support the transformation of the SelectScience technology stack.


  • Lead small internal development team, line managing current team and planning for the future in terms of staff development and new hires
  • Support IT operational team to manage existing systems with .net and SQL essential fixes and improvements
  • Understand existing legacy code and data to support transition to a new architecture


Additionally, responsibilities required to transition to a new architecture include:

  • Collaborate with trusted partners, developers, product owners and business executives to design, prototype and plan new solutions for SelectScience
  • Review and improve our development, build, test and production processes and environments
  • Design, develop, and test integrations with off the shelf software and cloud platforms
  • Design, build and test website and app functionality according to business requirements
  • Support IT operations team to evolve our infrastructure in the cloud and hybrid
  • Support data engineer and analysts to evolve data management, reporting and insights



  • Experience working in an agile delivery environment
  • Excellent knowledge and experience of:
    • HTML
    • CSS
    • Bootstrap
    • JavaScript
    • jQuery
    • AJAX
    • Angular / React
    • C# (Where our logical operations take place. Here, we are considering .NET, so it's C#)
    • .NET Core
    • Database
  • Website and App design and development projects
  • Standard source code control systems, dev ops techniques and tools
  • Highly numerical with strong analytical skills
  • Demonstrable experience with legacy tools including Excel
  • Must be able to produce proof of right to work in the UK by the start of employment
