The role

We are seeking an Editorial Assistant to join our digital content team in an entry-level position. You will be responsible for a wide range of duties across the editorial department including editorial and client support. This role offers a unique opportunity for those wanting to start an editorial career within a fast growth organisation.


The candidate

 

You will have a science degree, so either a BSc, MSc or PhD in life or applied sciences. You will have an interest in editorial and in producing content and have a natural creative flair for communication. Perhaps you have run student newsletters/newspapers or organised student clubs and events.

To be successful in this position, you will be both independent and able to work closely with others. In addition, you’ll be enthusiastic and tenacious about your work.

Attention to detail will be key, as you will help to deliver a range of exceptional digital content including product reviews, webinars, articles, news, and features. You will develop your skills in business and scientific communication and publishing and grow your knowledge of the scientific community.

To succeed in this role, you will need to have:


Essential

  • BSc, MSc or a PHD in life or applied sciences
  • Excellent English language skills, with sound communication and interpersonal skills
  • An ability to work independently, but also be an excellent team player
  • Exceptional organisational skills with a can-do approach to work
  • An ability to learn quickly and manage/prioritize a high-volume workload linked to tight deadlines
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to take instruction
  • Strong IT skills – proficient in using Microsoft Office packages, and an ability to quickly learn other editorial and content management tools
  • An ability to adhere to company quality standards
